This video takes a look at the Tesla Model 3. At Rise, we don’t usually do car reviews, but there is something very special about this model that we had to tell you about.
Mark and Kate Hanson have owned a long list of hybrid and other electric vehicles, but they now have his and hers Tesla Model 3’s.
Mark’s Model 3 has something that sets it apart with a colorful decal that has an important meaning.
As you’ll see, the decal starts at the top with blue lines and increases in color to red at the bottom. Each line represents the average global temperature on Earth for the last 100 years, starting with the oldest at the top of the vehicle, down to 2017.
In 2017, over one million electric vehicles (EVs) were sold around the world and some experts estimate that EVs will grow to about 125 million vehicles by the year 2030.
The 2018 Tesla Model 3 Long Range only requires 26 kWh to drive 100 miles. The EPA converts this rating into what they call a “miles-per-gallon equivalent” (MPGe) to help consumers determine the most energy-efficient option on the market.
The average American drives at least 1,000 miles per month. Reducing our transportation needs, no matter what type of car we drive, should be a priority for all people worried about their overall environmental impact.
The car wrap on this Tesla Model 3 isn’t just for visual effect. It’s an actual and very factual reminder of just how much global temperatures have changed over the last 100 years and where they are headed.
