Milk Paint
Milk paint is a natural paint finish made from curdled milk or cottage cheese, lime, and colored with earth pigment(s). Milk paint has been used for thousands of years and has become increasing popular as of the early 1800s. It is a highly durable alternative to commonly used paints and provides a natural matte finish.
Milk paint is an all-natural paint alternative. While it is eco-friendly and even child-safe, milk paint does contain lime, which could cause eye or skin irritation. Once dried, the pain is exceptionally durable and safe for furniture, toys, interior and exterior walls, and other common areas painted with latex paint.
Milk paint is made using all-natural ingredients and can safely be disposed of, even in your garden!
Milk paint has been used for thousands of years. Early on, it was used as a creative form of self-expression. Evidence of milk paint is evident in cave paintings discovered in Australia that dating back some 30,000 years and even in King Tutankhamun's tomb, who reigned the Egyptian empire from 1334 to 1325 BC.
