Hemp Lime Plaster
Hemp lime plaster is a plaster made by blending hemp fibers, high calcium lime, and a pozzolan as a setting agent. To harden, hemp lime plaster needs to be exposed to carbon dioxide. It's both breathable and flexible and is suitable for both new builds and renovations.
Hemp lime plaster is often sold in bags and available in two grades; fine and medium. While hemp fibers improve the plaster's strength and flexibility, it can also increase the thermal properties. Based on your intended use, manufacturers can suggest use and application and potentially provide insights into thermal improvements.
Hemp lime plaster can be recyclable during demolition and lower the acidity levels in cultivated fields or reintroduced into nature.
Since hemp lime plaster is mixed on-site at the time of use, there is little to no construction waste.
